“I’m Not Sorry” by Papa

1398167_10153444436365584_769935052_oFriends since their childhood in Encino, drummer/vocalist Darren Weiss (formerly of Girls) and bassist Danny Presant formed PAPA while still college students in New York City. Now based back home, the duo released their debut full-length Tender Madness (Loma Vista) last year replete with heartland rock anthems rooted in blues-pop (a la Cold War Kids, The KillersSam’s Town).

The band recently leaked the cut track “I’m So Sorry” which beautifully highlights Weiss’ baritone vibrato voice through a more somber vibe:

And to prove their songs were truly made to be experienced live, the duo recently released the live EP Tender Madness Sessions for free. Here’s a video of them performing “Put Me To Work” mostly at the El Rey Theatre:

PAPA will next perform at The Echo tonight along with Hindu Pirates and Cillie Barnes.
