“Big Quiet” by The Dead Ships

The Dead Ships_credit Robin LaananenThe Dead Ships returns by leaking another track, “Big Quiet,” off their forthcoming EP, EP I (first of a two-part series), dropping May 5th. No longing trying to burst eardrums, the track is a partial-departure from their blues rawk roots and a welcomed progression into more structured post-punk indie rock (perhaps due to working with producer Brendan Canning of Broken Social Scene). And with lyrics written by frontman Devlin McCluskey after he lost his best friend to suicide, the song is very profound.

“You can come back to life, just like I did, and return to the big quiet.”
