“California Girls” Music Video by NoMBe

DSC_8407NoMBe returns by releasing a music video for his breakout single, “California Girls,” off his forthcoming second EP Mood Indigo. Directed by Luca Repola and shot throughout L.A. (Santa Monica, Woodland Hills, Franklin Canyon, etc.), the video is a well fleshed out story of a sketchy love triangle and a chilling conclusion that oh-so-aptly coincides with the song’s transformative aura.

“Letting In” by Beauville

Smiley indian bandBased out of NoHoBeauville is the new project spawned by singer-songwriter Josh Bovill. Armed with an acoustic guitar and a soft soul vox (à la G. Love & Special Sauce), he blends rootsy folk pop with thick digi-beats –courtesy of neo-soulster NoMBe acting as producer– for a very original and smooth fusion. Here’s his grooving debut single, “Letting In,” off his forthcoming debut EP:

Beauville will perform tomorrow (April 10th) at House of Blues Los Angeles.

“Why Don’t You Save Me” by Kan Wakan (NoMBe remix)

032Psych soul popsters Kan Wakan recently asked their favorite artists and producers to remix their debut LP Moving On. Twenty three reimagined songs later (certain tracks were selected multiple times), the meta-titled Moving On Remixed (Noisetrade) proves how the band’s diverse orchestral soundscape is ripe for creative collaboration. And for the stirring “Why Don’t You Save Me,” the (now) duo recruited neo-soulster NoMBe to give it a proper electro-pop makeover which twists the original beyond recognition:

“California Girls” by NoMBe

NoMBe pressNeo-soulster NoMBe returns by leaking the first single, “California Girls,” off his forthcoming second EP Mood Indigo. Its title might suggest a simple jovial salute to the women of his adopted state, but it wouldn’t be a NoMBe song without a deeper level of subconscious reflection mixed with trip-pop production:

“Oh, how I like the smell of West Coast pheromones.”

“Waves” Music Video by NoMBe

Screen Shot Waves NoMBeNoMBe returns with a music video for his trip-hop psych-soul single, “Waves,” off his debut EP Change of Hearts. Directed by Gomar, the video enhances NoMBe‘s enigma vibe as he sings as a misty, blurry silhouette flanked by two nude mannequins before spinning into kaleidoscope effects. It all just makes us more intrigued and invested in this young neo-soulster’s unique psyche:

“Seminole” by NoMBe

2014-04-05 22.31.26NoMBe is the German-born Noah McBeth who now records at a studio in Hollywood –or what he refers to as “the middle of all the madness.” His sound likes to blurs the genres of trip-hop, indie pop, and neo-soul as his first leaked single, “Seminole,” is a steady-beat noir narrative that he talk-sings down a dope dark path:
